If you’re anything like me, going to the dentist to get some work done is a bit intimidating. To be honest, I hate the shot. I am deathly afraid of needles and getting injected.
Knowing my upcoming appointment would involve getting local anesthetic, I visited my dentist’s website to see what other solutions she offered. I was hoping she could just knock me out completely so I would not even have to worry about the painful shot. Much to my surprise, I saw my dentist provided a new pain-free injection called Anutra.
My fear of the dentist subsided slightly. I further investigated this new technology by Anutra. As I read more about Anutra, I was shocked to learn that needles are not the painful part of getting an injection-the anesthetic is. The typical injection we get when we go to the dentist is super acidic. In fact, it is as acidic as lemon juice. Can you imagine getting injected with lemon juice? No wonder it burns!
Years ago, the medical community realized that you could buffer anesthetic. Buffering is simply adding a solution to the acidic anesthetic to make it less acidic. So, if you have ever had to go to the dermatologist to get a mole removed, it probably wasn’t that bad. Well due to the older technology dentists have used for decades, their shots were more painful.
Well, with Anutra’s buffered local anesthetic, not only is the anesthetic comfortable, it also is delivered with a multi-dose syringe. What does that mean? Well, it means they don’t have to keep coming in and out of the mouth, poking you a bunch of times to get you numb. They can hold all the anesthetic in one syringe so you get numb the first time when they enter your mouth to give the injection.
Pain was the first thing that made me fear the dentist. The second thing that always bugged me about going to the dentists was waiting. Oh I would wait in the lobby, then I would wait in the chair. The dentist would come and give me a shot then leave me alone with that light beating down on my face. She would always leave the room and come back 20 minutes later. She probably was probably checking Facebook. Well, all of that waiting is now a moot point.
Not only is the Anutra injection virtually painless, it is also almost instant. The doctor no longer has to leave my side after she injects. She can give me a perfect shot and then she can go to work. That helps my anxiety levels so much. I no longer fear that time alone in the room wondering when I will hear the sound of that ominous drill.
So, if you’re anything like me, going to the dentist was always a scary proposition due to the high pain and the long wait. Frankly, with Anutra being the leading injection system for patient satisfaction, I was really not that scared to face getting the dental care that I know I need, but had been afraid to get. If I am being really honest, I was secretly excited to get Anutra when I had to get my filling.
After my research, I made my appointment. The day came. I went to the office and checked in. The hygienist came to the waiting room to call my name before I could even sit down. She took me back and put me in the chair.
A moment later, the doctor came in, greeted me and leaned me back. The moment came. All of my fear came back as I stared up into that masked face silhouetted by the menacing light. I closed my eyes in fear.
“It’s over!” My doctor said. I opened my eyes, confused. “What’s over?” I inquired.
No sooner had I said that, my tongue started feeling heavy and my lip was getting tingly. I was numb right away and I did not even know I got a shot! It’s hard to believe, I know.
Next time you go to the dentist, make sure they are using Anutra buffered anesthetic. It will change your perspective forever! No more fear of pain, no more waiting.
